Marion Cramer, a Tiffin native, joined the Navy following the surprise attack by Japan on Pearl Harbor. He served for four years from 1942-1946 but never spoke about his service to his wife, Agnes or children, Ann and Mark. It wasn’t until after his death the family learned that Marion served in the ultra-secret assignment as a Cryptologic officer in Washington, D.C. and Pearl Harbor, HI breaking Japanese encoded messages. Join us as Seneca County native and museum volunteer, Master Chief Intelligence Specialist Andrew T. Jones, United States Navy (retired) discusses Marion’s service and World War II Communications Intelligence efforts.
