The Seneca County Museum will host Larry Michaels on Thursday, November 7th at 7:00pm. He will be presenting The Battle of Fort Stephenson. The decisive American victory at the battle of Fort Stephenson in what is now Fremont, August 1st & 2nd, 1813, ended the British land invasion of Ohio. It also led to their complete evacuation back to Canada after Perry's victory at the battle of Lake Erie on September 10th. This PowerPoint program will show the events leading up to the battle, the battle itself, and the aftermath of the British defeat.
Larry Michaels is a retired Lutheran pastor who taught English part-time at the University of Toledo and has written several books about the history of northwest Ohio. He and his wife Suzi now live in Fremont.
